Education Success Stories
Here at Smallbrook, we are especially proud to celebrate the individual successes that our students both past and present have had because of their passions and commitment to their vocational lessons. Some of this years successes include 4 of our year eleven students successfully being offered College placements in construction, catering and motor vehicle. One of our students have successfully gained employment and heading into the world of work 🙂 in the building sector.
We recently received an email from a parent who wanted to say thank you for all the continual efforts with her child.
We were recently visited by former pupil Cam Barnes, who kindly shared his journey since leaving Smallbrook and how his time here helped set him up for success.
Cam Barnes – Former Student (2 Years at Smallbrook)
“I really enjoyed my time at Smallbrook. The teachers were brilliant – they were always patient, understanding, and genuinely cared about each student. My favourite subject was Motor Vehicle, without a doubt – it’s what I’m doing now as a job!
Since leaving, I’ve started an apprenticeship in a garage and I’m also studying a Level 2 in Light Vehicle Repair at college. I split my week between three days at college and two days in the garage. There’s a bit of paperwork involved, but I know it’s all helping me get qualified – and I’m loving every minute of it.
My time at Smallbrook really prepared me for the next steps. The staff helped build my confidence and gave me the skills I needed to succeed. In the future, I’d like to work full-time in a garage once my apprenticeship ends. I don’t see myself starting my own business, but I know I want to stay in this field – working with vehicles is my passion.”
It was lovely to catch up with Cam and hear how well he’s doing. We’re incredibly proud of his progress and wish him the very best of luck for the future!
