Smallbrook school was recently nominated for the star school in the Be Kind Awards UK which was held in Manchester on the 19th of June. The Be Kind Awards are to recognise and celebrate young people not just for their academic achievements in school, but also for the way they treat others and show acts of kindness. The nomination was for the students hard work in the community through the charity shop Nu2u Telford, which has been working with Smallbrook students since 2019.
We were up against a number of amazing schools around the UK, but We came away as winners, a trophy and £100 to spend on our school. The money spent will be used to create a ‘Kindness Club’ in school, to continue spreading the message of kindness far and wide. Lee, the lead for Nu2u in our school was so proud of the students and all their hard work throughout the year. As winners, we have now been asked to be “Be Kind” Ambassadors for the Awards in the future. What a team!
Well done to all students involved and both Lee and Karen for supporting on the day.
