Word Mental Health Day #HelloYellow

To celebrate World Mental Health Day Smallbrook school held a ‘Hello Yellow’ charity fundraising day, which included staff and students wearing something yellow to raise awareness of the vital work of the charity Young Minds.

Hello Yellow, was launched in 2016 to show young people that they are not alone. The event encourages togetherness and the importance of acknowledging the importance of supporting young people who may struggle with their mental health.

Staff and students also had the opportunity to take part in an afternoon tea style afternoon. All those involved were able to purchase the most amazing, tasty treats, which were kindly baked by the amazing members of the school’s clinical team. The £100 raised from the day will go towards projects planned by Young Minds.

Smallbrook would like to say a massive thank you to all the clinical team, with an extra special thank you to Michelle Hopkins, the school’s senior specialist in Art Psychotherapy and wellbeing and clinical service coordinator, for planning such a lovely day that spread such an important message. #HelloYellow
