Smallbrook School Football Team Triumphs in Back-to-Back Matches

On Friday, October 18th, the Smallbrook School football team faced the demanding challenge of playing two consecutive matches. The team was riding high on confidence after a dominant 15-0 win in their previous league fixture.

In the first match of the day, Smallbrook took on Woodbury School. Despite Woodbury’s best efforts, Smallbrook delivered a commanding performance, securing a 9-0 victory. DP was the star of the match, netting an impressive five goals, bringing his league tally to 13 in just two games. SH contributed with a brace, while JC and KJ added a goal each, ensuring a comfortable 3 points for the team. KJ’s persistence and patience throughout the match earned him the well-deserved Man of the Match award.

The second game of the day was a thrilling friendly against Lamledge School. Both teams fought hard, but Smallbrook narrowly clinched a 5-4 victory in a nail-biting contest. DP continued his incredible form with a hat-trick, while JC added another goal, and KJ rounded off the score with a stunning long-range effort from outside the box. Defensively, LF was a standout performer, receiving the Man of the Match award for his rock-solid presence at the back. He carried out his defensive duties phenomenally, holding the line under pressure and making crucial interventions to keep the team ahead.

It was a day of remarkable performances, showcasing the team’s resilience, skill, and determination on both ends of the pitch. A special mention also goes to our other players, SMT, RB, LD, HD, RH and JH, who all played brilliantly.

Well done everyone!! Go Smallbrook!
