Home News & Events Sick to Death
Some of our year seven students enjoyed a trip to Sick to Death, a brand-new history of medicine attraction in Chester. Students were able to experience the weird and wonderful history of medicine, they examined the reason why autopsies were so important and why the plague doctors wore strange masks. Students met the Grim reaper and Asclepius the ancient Greek god of medicine, they entered diagnosis alley where they had to spot all the hazards. The autopsy room allowed students to understand what happens inside our bodies, students were able to look at surgery through time and examine the instruments physicians used to treat their patients. Finally, students observed breakthroughs in medicine and the advances made to make surgery much safer.
