Students of Smallbrook have been queuing up to attend the Hair, nail and beauty sessions held after school on Tuesday evenings. Here they have been working hard on developing their knowledge and understanding of the various skills and processes needed to work in the beauty industry, including customer service. This week students have learnt how to make their very own hair masks using natural ingredients. They developed their understanding of the importance of cleansing, toning and moisturising skin, using each other as models.
These sessions, not only give our students an insight into the beauty industry, but they allow our students to develop fundamental soft skills like team work, active listening, endurance, honesty, confidence and the most important of all……. to celebrate self expression. All this wouldn’t be possible without our amazing Beauty teacher Terrie Cope and her assistant Gemma Palmer.
