Home News & Events A Smallbrook Success
This story is about one of our truly amazing year nine students. Jake came to Smallbrook school in year six, he was experiencing difficulties, socially and emotionally that were having a major impact on his opportunity to experience successful learning. He struggled with building positive relationships within a school setting, leading to Jake not fulfilling his true potential. Jake’s journey with us has been eventful, he has worked extremely hard developing the skills and strategies needed to focus on his learning, managing his emotions and building positive relationships with both staff and students.
His confidence now is infectious, he has acted as a role model to others in the school, representing Smallbrook school on TV, playing for the school football team and being a member of the schools student council. We can not praise Jake enough for how determined he has been in achieving his goal of moving to a mainstream school. As a result of Jake’s hard work and determination, he has now joined and currently enjoying school life at Charlton school.
We recently received a letter from Jake and his foster carers thanking us for our contribution to Jake’s amazing personal success. Well done Jake, we are immensely proud of you.
