The date was 24th of June 2022. The debut of the superb Smallbrook FC! The team travelled far and wide to a destination to compete in their first game as a team! The team did themselves proud playing as a complete unit and made the school incredibly proud! Our young people hit a milestone on this great day!

The game started slow… with a feeling process going on amongst both teams! However, after a short while the opposition started to show their teamwork and scored their first goal. However, this did not deter our strong young people. They continued their fight, and they showed their dedication to the game they were playing. They continued on their mission to complete this game with their heads held high and spirits even higher.

After the game the score read 9-1 to the opposition. Although the score read 9-1, the opposition took over 30 shots. Our tremendous goalkeeper lionheart Logan had a saving percentage of 70%!! Our defensive efforts showed, and our determination was even stronger with a goal coming in the 56th minute of the game! Emphatic Ethan took the ball up from the midfield area and with his delirious dribbling scored a wonderful sweeping chip that totally fooled the opposition keeper! Our response was raucous with staff and students cheering and running onto the pitch to celebrate!

Our thanks go out to the staff that supported on that day and the young people that persevered in a difficult game! We are so proud of the young people on this day and the only way is up from here!

Neeraj Bakshi & Lauren James!
