Students help with ‘pop up shop’
On Friday 11th March, four of our wonderful students supported staff member Lee Ellis in his pop-up shop Nu-2-u Telford.
The shop has been running for some time and aims to gift clothes and toiletries to those in need. The students work under Lee’s direction to talk to customers, sort through donations and fill the shelves. This gives them vital experience of work outside the classroom but also an understanding of different parts of a community. Lee said: “It was one of the busiest days we’ve had in the last few years which is great for us, but sadly highlights the need to help so many people in the community. Our children did us proud (as always) and I am looking forward to taking them to the shop again.”
Well done to the students and thank you to the staff at the care homes for the support.
