VE Day at Smallbrook School

Today at Smallbrook we marked VE Day with reflection, learning, and some very tasty treats!

A big thank you to Sara and Si for preparing a delicious VE Day menu for lunch, including:

๐ŸŸ Fish and chips

๐Ÿฅช A selection of sandwiches

๐Ÿ“ Fruit and jelly

๐Ÿฐ Scones

In KS2 Class 4, students spent the week learning about the significance of VE Day and why it means so much to so many. One student even decorated the classroom windows with beautiful pictures, and the whole class made poppies after looking at the inspiring poppy display at the Tower of London. Itโ€™s been lovely to see how engaged and thoughtful all of our students have been when discussing such a pivotal world event.

At 12 noon, the whole school took part in a 2-minute silence to remember and reflect those who gave their life and those who survived. Our students were incredibly respectful throughout, showing real understanding and maturity throughout the whole day.
