Home News & Events Year 11 Students Wrap Up Exams with Camping Trip to Shell Island
To celebrate finishing their exams, Year 11 students spent three nights camping on Shell Island. The trip offered a chance to relax, enjoy the outdoors, and spend time together before moving on to the next stage of their education.
Days were spent by student’s rock pooling, playing in the sea, and exploring the sand dunes. These activities encouraged them to work together and appreciate the natural surroundings.
Evenings included a mix of group games like charades on the first night, watching the Lionesses’ match on the second, and a campfire with marshmallows on the beach to close the trip. The students stayed around the fire until it grew dark, enjoying the chance to talk and unwind.
The trip wasn’t just about having fun—it gave the students time to develop social skills like cooperation and communication, reflect on their recent achievements, and share different experiences. It also helped them respect each other’s perspectives and connect with the wider community.
Overall, the Shell Island camping trip was a positive experience that left the students and staff with great memories!
