Careers day success

The Smallbrook Careers event is organised by Andy Lawson and held every year and each year we welcome more and more people to showcase to our children the different options available.

Following the success of the previous carers events, Smallbrook held its third event on Friday 10th December, We wanted to give our students the opportunity to talk about real opportunities with the people who provide them. This included colleges, apprentices, AICO, RSPCA, Garages, Hope House and  our careers adviser.  The aim was to give our students the opportunity  to access a wider variety of people from the world of work and education to support them to consider their future plans and career aspirations.  We will also ran a  team building activity at the Sundown sports village.  Students  accessed both of these either in the morning or afternoon depending on their KS. Because of the importance of this event we  suspended the regular timetable of  classes for the day and prepared the students prior to the event to think of questions to ask. The event went well with students finding out information about what is on offer both in education, employment and volunteering.  Great job Andy!
